​A: Not quite! Before every light, trim your wick to about 5mm. A long, "mushroomed" wick creates a larger, flickering flame that can cause soot. A short wick keeps the flame steady and safe for everyone in the room (including me).

​Q: How long should I keep my candle lit?
​A: For the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the container (about 1–2 hours). This prevents "tunnelling." But don't go over 4 hours—we don't want the container getting too hot for curious tails!
